Some time ago we decided we needed to replace our leather three piece settee, which would have been very expensive. I decided to see if there was an... alternative and I accidently came across Furniture Medic at Redcar. We popped in one day, even though we live in North Yorkshire, and we were immediately impressed with Alan and his son Oliver. They came out to visit us to give us an idea of what it might cost to replace all the stuffing, make good all the worn bits and dye the leather to a colour we preferred. They took away the single, swivel recliner, followed by one of the two seaters and then the other two seater, and the quality of the work is absolutely outstanding. Don't expect a quick turn around because with perfectionists, they make sure the work is first class and not rushed. Overall, I think we have saved at least £5k by renovating our 'old' suite rather than buying a new one. We are absolutely delighted with the quality of the work, with the new colour and the professionalism of the company and would be delighted to recommend Furniture Medic without reservation.PS: Alan and his son revisited us to make a couple of minor adjustments to the recliner sofas-nothing significant, but slightly aggravating to us. Nothing was too much bother for them and once again, they carried out the remedial work with great expertise and passion. We’ve just had our sofa returned from Furniture Medic NE and Wow what a difference. We asked them to call round for advice and quote as we originally... thought that it maybe beyond repair and I’m so glad we did as they have done an amazing job! Advised they would do my sofa at the start of August but didn't start until the end of September. Advised it would take 3 it took 4 the sofa is alot... better and it's not the quality of work I am unhappy. It's the fact that they were then suppose to do my the other sofa straight after and another 4 weeks later they haven't even taken it and now with Christmas so close I can't let them have it even if they bothered to contact me ( which is there massive downfall) .UPDATE: They have called and taken my sofa on the 8th of Jan and bringing it back tonight the 23rd that is super quick compared to my last one. Just got my leather armchair back from Furniture Medic North East - they have done an amazing job repairing stitching and removing an ugly stain in... the arm - I am over the moon with the results! Brilliant service from Oliver and Evie.We've been trying to get our sofa foot rest sorted for weeks, one call to Furniture Medic and a few days... later we're fixed. Oliver and Evie arrived on time, got on with the job, diagnosed the problem and then fixed it. I would highly recommend them for their excellent work. Furniture Medic North east give a first class service. I have had a leather sofa and recliner chair reupholstered and a colour repair done to the... leather where it had worn. Alan and Oliver have done a fantastic job and it's lovely to see craftsmen that obviously take pride in their work. Alan and Evie carried out a repair to our wood floor which was damaged due to a leaky Christmas tree container. We've had to wait a long time to get... the work done but it was well worth it. Absolutely fabulous service yes they took a long time but they are perfectionists in what they do they do.Mums had lifted the colour out the leather... of her sofa and pouffe so needed recoloured.Her sofa needed re padding my oh mywhat a fantastic job they have done it looks absolutely like new just out the show room she cannot praise them enough.They also resurfaced her dinning room table again perfectly done can’t rate them any higher the excellent job throughly well done.read more
Brilliant! A man (Alan) came out at short notice while our kitchen floor (Karndean) was being cleaned and he repaired some bad scratches. We can now... barely see them at all. To top it all there was no extra charge. Amazing- absolutely deserved the bottle I took him later.read more
I have just had my (expensive,) leather recliner returned after a repair to the arm . Not only was the repair more than satisfactory, the chair was... cleaned etc and looked like new again. The work was done by furniture medic northeast which is a family firm and you could not get a better service and nicer people anywhere . As other people have stated it does take a while for them to get round to doing the job but that's because they are very busy. Be patient and... eventually you will be rewarded with a good repair to your furniture. I'm happy with the repair to my leather sofa and hopefully will get many more years of use out of it.read more
